SERVING ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN

Website Design in Ann Arbor, MI

A sharp-looking website can still become a problem if the old developer owns the domain, controls the hosting or keeps the only administrator login. Cale Media plans the pages and customer path, but we also put ownership and access in writing so an Ann Arbor business is not trapped after launch.

CHECK CONTROL BEFORE SIGNING

Use the ownership ledger before the first design mockup

Choose an item to see what the business should keep, what Cale Media needs to do the work and what deserves a direct answer in the proposal. The ledger stores and sends nothing.

Website ownership ledger

Five assets can determine whether the business can update, move or measure its own website later.

BUYER CHECKLIST

Keep the domain in a business-controlled account

The domain is the address customers and search engines know. The business should be able to renew it and change its settings without depending on a former vendor.

BUSINESS KEEPSRegistrar ownership, billing access and recovery details

Use a business email that will still exist if an employee or vendor leaves.

ASK BEFORE SIGNINGWhose name and account will hold the domain?

A clear answer now can prevent an expensive handoff later.

DESIGN AROUND THE DECISION

The page has to finish the job that brought the visitor there

Someone comparing a professional service may need credentials, scope and a direct request route. Someone planning a visit may need hours, parking context and a phone-friendly map. A technical buyer may need capabilities, specifications and a way to reach the right person.

We decide which action matters on each page, then arrange the explanation, proof and contact path around it. That work is more useful than adding motion to a page that still leaves the customer unsure what to do.

WHAT THE DESIGN WORK COVERS

Build the route before decorating it

The exact scope depends on what already works and what the customer needs to accomplish. These are the three decisions we settle first.

01 / STRUCTURE

Give each service a useful destination

Plan the homepage, service pages and supporting information so a visitor does not have to guess whether the business handles the work.

02 / EVIDENCE

Show what can be verified

Use real work, accurate team or process details and approved proof. Do not fill an empty layout with invented results or anonymous praise.

03 / ACTION

Make the next step work on a phone

Keep the phone, form, directions or booking route visible and test the actual destination instead of assuming a button is enough.

MAKE THE QUOTE SPECIFIC

A website proposal should name the handoff

A buyer should be able to tell what is being created, what is being preserved and what they receive when the project is finished.

Scope itemWhat should be namedWhy it matters
Pages and contentPage list, writing responsibility, images and revision limitsPrevents a low quote from hiding missing work
Accounts and accessDomain, hosting, website admin and recovery ownershipKeeps the business able to operate and move the site
Forms and inquiriesRecipient, confirmation, spam handling and a completed testProtects the customer path after a visitor clicks
Search preservationExisting URLs, redirects, titles, descriptions and analytics accessReduces avoidable losses during a rebuild
Launch and supportDevice checks, backup, training and post-launch limitsSeparates the project from continuing maintenance

IMPROVE OR REBUILD WITH EVIDENCE

Do not erase useful pages just to make the project feel new

Before a rebuild, we inventory the current URLs, forms, pages that already receive search visits and any content the business wants to keep. Useful addresses can stay in place. Changed addresses should have deliberate redirects. Forms should be tested with a real delivery check before launch.

  • Improve: keep the current system when the main problems are weak copy, missing service pages or a confusing contact route.
  • Refresh: update the visual system and page structure when the foundation works but the presentation does not.
  • Rebuild: move systems when maintenance, performance, access or technical limits make the current setup the wrong foundation.

CONNECT THE WEBSITE TO SEARCH

A new site still needs a way to be found

Website design and local SEO overlap when service pages, titles, descriptions, internal links and contact information are planned. They are not the same job, and a design launch does not guarantee rankings. See the separate scope for local SEO and marketing in Ann Arbor and social media marketing in Ann Arbor.

CONTACT CALE MEDIA

Bring the current website and the access you already have

Send the website address, the main service you want customers to hire and the part of the current site that is getting in the way. If ownership or access is unclear, include that too. We will recommend a focused starting scope and name the handoff in writing.
