Practical help for business owners

A quiet phone doesn’t tell you which part of your marketing needs work. People may not be finding the business, they may be choosing someone else, or they may be trying to reach you and giving up. Cale Media reviews those steps together before recommending Google listing work, website changes or a wider marketing plan.

Separate being found from getting hired

Start with one service you want to sell and the area where you can do the work. Check what a customer sees when looking for that service, then open your listing and website as someone who has never heard of you. Your business name, a service search and a search from a different location can produce different results.

If the listing is missing even when you search its name, begin with our business not showing on Google guide. If it appears but the phone stays quiet, the next question is whether the information gives a suitable customer a reason to call. Changing a page title won’t fix an incorrect phone number or an unclear offer.

Check the information behind the call

Review the phone number, hours, services and website destination on the profile. Make sure someone looking for the work you actually do reaches a page explaining it. A broad homepage may leave a buyer guessing about an important service, travel limit or appointment requirement.

On that page, show what is included, the situations you can handle and what you need to prepare a quote. Use real work photos when you have permission. Explain what happens after the inquiry. A customer shouldn’t need to know your internal service names to recognize that you can help.

Do a customer-route check on your phone

Open the listing, follow its website link and find the contact option. Check the number before calling it. If you test your own form, label the inquiry as a test and confirm it reaches the person who should answer. Check the reply address too. A success message on the screen doesn’t tell you whether the email arrived.

Look at this route during the hours customers actually contact you. Decide who handles missed calls and how a caller can leave useful details. Don’t promise immediate service on the page if inquiries normally wait until the end of the working day.

Count inquiries separately from button clicks

Google’s profile report defines calls as clicks on the call button. That count is not proof of an answered conversation or booked job. Google explains its Business Profile performance metrics here.

Keep a simple weekly record: date, requested service, service area, whether the inquiry fit and whether it booked. Record how the customer says they found you, leaving the source unknown when you can’t establish it. Compare those notes with profile activity over the same period. That gives a review something more useful than a screenshot of a rank.

Choose the work that matches the problem

Missing or inaccurate business information calls for a profile review. A useful service that barely appears on the website may need a clearer page and local SEO work. Visitors who can’t understand the offer or complete an inquiry point toward website improvements. An immediate promotion may need paid advertising, with its own budget and follow-up plan.

Bring your profile link, website, priority service and recent inquiry notes. We can inspect the route and discuss a specific scope. You keep ownership of your business accounts, and the proposal identifies the work before it starts.
